Running and Walking

This past weekend was super fun...well sort of (aside from achey knees and feet).

Chad and I decided a couple months ago to run a 1/2 marathon.  For those of you that don't know (and I actually get asked this ALL the time...) a full marathon is 26.2 miles and a half is 13.1.  Those distances are and will always be the same for ANY full or 1/2 marathon.

Okay, so now that we are clear.  Chad had expressed interest in running a 1/2 marathon knowing that I had run a couple of full marathons in my past and a good friend of ours recently ran the LA marathon.  I told him I would, although I mentally told myself my long distance running days were over long ago.

Anywho, we decided to run the Ventura Beach Front 1/2 Marathon and it was so great...running along PCH the whole time.  Can't beat that view!

The night before we stayed at my Aunt Maryann and Uncle Rick's house who live just minutes from the race.  Bennett had a blast and a half chasing the dog and all the kitties around that he slept like a rock all night.  I even had to wake him up in the morning from snoozing away.  I was so thankful because Chad and I sure needed our rest before the run.

I think we should sleep at the Zepf's more often!

The race was great and I felt so good the entire time.  So much that I just had to take a photo of mile twelve to share the excitement of only having one mile left!

After finishing, I told myself I had no idea how I ever ran full marathons...never again I tell you.

Never again!

On Sunday, we did a lot of practice with Benny walking and also layed out by the pool for some much needed R&R.  Bennett's walking is getting better and better each day.  He can almost walk across most of the living room before falling into one of our arms.

...my baby is offically no longer a baby!

Photos...and LOTS of em'

Ahoy!

It seems like it's been awhile, but that may be because this past week has been SUPER busy for us Anaya's.

Last weekend my very, very good friend Sayoko got married!!  Being in the wedding party, I drove up with Say on Thursday to go to the flower district and her final dress fitting.  It was so nice to have a full on GIRLS day, but boy were we busy.  The day started around 7:30 and we were non-stop until after midnight doing all the flowers, decor, etc.  PHEW!

Friday was the day of the wedding and it was such a breeze considering how on top of things we all were.  It was great to be able to just relax all day rather than stress about getting things done.

My little friend made the most beautiful bride and we had such a great time celebrating her special day.

Bennett also went on his first date with Baby Paityn and showed off his wedding dance moves...can you handle the cuteness?

You can see all of Sayoko's GORGEOUS wedding photos here:

On Saturday we did something Chad and I had been waiting for a while to do...we just needed to find the time.  Thankfully we are now all done with our weddings/parties we were able to take Benny to the park and swing on the swings for the very first time.

My heart exploded again and again with every smile and leg kick.  HE LOVED IT!

Lastly, on Sunday, just shy of his 11 month birthday, our little man started to walk!!!  For a while now Bennett has been standing, letting go, balancing, but then would always get scared and squat down or "drunk baby" topple over.

But now, thanks to some practice sessions with Mommy and Daddy, Benny is taking a few steps on his own and is getting better and better everyday.

Seriously...how did we get here so quickly?

T-minus one month til this kiddo's FIRST BIRTHDAY!!!! I can't believe that!!

Now, I leave you with some extra photo cuteness of our little guy.
Happy Friday!
